MAFP Committees

MAFP committees meet throughout the year on the same day for what is known as a “Cluster Day.” Meetings are typically held at the MAFP office in Okemos (unless otherwise noted). All members who are interested in participating are welcome to attend an upcoming Cluster Day.

Executive Committee

1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Advocacy Committee
This committee helps to shape health care policy through interactions with government, the public, business, other professional organizations, and the health care industry.

2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Education Committee
This committee brings Residency Program Directors, Residents, Students and Medical School Chairs together to advocate for family medicine.

3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Communications/Membership Committee
This committee helps to recruit and retain members while offering viable membership services, including participation in health and safety promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management in Michigan; as well as the committee that assists in the promotion of the unique and essential role of family medicine and the MAFP to the public, business, government, health care industry, students and our members.
