About Michigan Family Physicians Care

We are pleased to announce that the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians has initiated membership into the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) Physician Group Incentive Program (PGIP) and will have a contract with BCBSM for PGIP effective July 1, 2011. As a result, we have enlisted the services of Medical Advantage Group (MAG), a management and services consulting company, and have established our own independent physician association (IPA), Michigan Family Physicians Care, for MAFP members. Michigan Family Physicians Care exists for a singular purpose, to facilitate MAFP members’ efforts to provide the highest quality of care for their patients, and to be recognized for that quality through PGIP. Your patients will be the primary beneficiaries, but you will benefit as well by maximizing pay-for-performance and other incentive plans.

We believe that your participation through Michigan Family Physicians Care will enable you, as part of a large cohesive group of family physician colleagues, to jointly improve performance and lead to increasing incentive monies returned to you and your fellow members.
