About MAFP

The Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) is an association of over 3,200 Michigan family physicians whose mission is to promote excellence in health care and the betterment of the health of the American people. The headquarters office is located in Okemos, Michigan. During the past 55 years, the Academy has worked to provide responsible advocacy for and education of patients and the public in all health-related matters. One of the primary objectives is to promote the science and art of family medicine and to ensure an optimal supply of well-trained family physicians. The group also works hard to preserve quality cost-effective health care. The MAFP is a constituent chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the largest medical specialty society in the U.S., representing over 90,000 family physicians nationwide. The AAFP is headquartered in Leawood, Kansas.
