MAFP Supports Governor’s Award of Excellence Program
The Governor’s Award of Excellence is an annual award program, created through a collaborative effort between MPRO and Governor Granholm’s office. This prestigious award provides primary care physician offices statewide an opportunity to be recognized for their work in the area of quality improvement. Since 2001, over 700 awards have been presented to physician offices throughout the state of Michigan for their commitment to quality and patient safety.
Applications are self-nominated and office size is not a factor for participation in the award. The award is open to adult primary care physician offices (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Practice, Gerontology, OB/GYN, and Endocrinology). The GAE is a non-competitive award and every office that clearly shows that they have met the criteria will receive the award.
Governor Granholm endorses the Governor’s Award for its commitment to enhancing the quality of care provided to Michigan citizens. The Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) is proud to join our colleagues at the Michigan State Medical Society and Michigan Osteopathic Association among others, in supporting this award. “Michigan Academy of Family Physicians enthusiastically supports this quality improvement initiative. We encourage all of our members to explore the benefits of participating in this program,” stated Janice Klos, Chief Executive Officer, MAFP
The deadline for nominations for 2007 is April 27. Visit MPRO’s web site at https://eform.mpro.org/physicianoffice/pogae2007/ to apply for the award.
