Michigan has an Essential Health Provider grant pool that is available to physicians in areas designated as "Health Professional Shortage Areas". Monies are available to new and continuing providers. Currently, the grants provide a 2-year contract that can be extended by 1 year. Michigan had 42 openings in 2004. For more information on these grants, click here.
