Event: Knowledge Self-Assessment: Asthma

Date:  Saturday, December 9, 2017

Content: The content of the KSA on Asthma demonstrates the highest level of ethical, education and medical standards, which effectively merges clinical practice and current evidence-based medical research. Upon completion of Part A, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge in understanding and identifying the pathogensis of asthma; diagnosing asthma; managing chronic asthma; managing emergency cases of asthma; recognizing and managing co-morbidities of asthma; managing exercise-induced asthma; recognizing and managing complications of asthma therapy.

Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Breakfast will be served on-site at 8:00 a.m. The KSA will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 12:30 p.m., during which you will collectively complete the 60-question KSA with your colleagues in a distraction-free, group discussion format facilitated by Dr. Walsworth. At the session's conclusion, MAFP staff will submit your score to ABFM, and in turn, ABFM will report your CME to AAFP.  Please note: The registration fee includes breakfast and refreshments; it does not include ABFM fees or recertification fees.

Mode of Attendance: You have two options to attend this Live CME activity

  • Attend in-person at MAFP Headquarters, 2164 Commons Parkway, Okemos, MI 48864, or
  • Attend virtually. There is no additional charge for virtual attendance. The application for virtual attendance is TBA.

Cost: Member Early-Bird Rate $199  (through Thursday, November 23, 2017). Member Rate $249 (November 24-December 9)

CME:  This Live activity, Asthma, with a beginning date of 12/09/17, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 8.00 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

Cancelation Policy: All cancelations and refund requests must be submitted in writing to the MAFP office no later than November 23, 2017. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from any and all cancelations and refunds. No refunds will be granted after November 23.
