2018 MI Family Medicine Advocacy Day
February 20, 2018
Anderson House Office Building, Mackinac Room | 124 North Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI
Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) and Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians (MAOFP) invite Family Physicians, Family Medicine residents, and medical students to Michigan Family Medicine Advocacy Day on February 20, 2018, in Downtown Lansing. Advocacy Day is taking place during Family Medicine Week in Michigan (February 18-24), as proclaimed by Governor Rick Snyder.
Collectively, MAFP and MAOFP represent more than 4,500 Family Physicians statewide.
Advocacy Day is an annual event that provides Family Medicine advocates a valuable opportunity to meet with state legislators and their staff to discuss and share personal experiences regarding policy issues unique to Family Medicine. The future of the Medicaid program, access to primary care in underserved areas, and tackling administrative burdens necessary for freeing up time for patient care are among the issues that will be front and center in 2018.
There is no cost to attend this event!
Space is limited, however, so register early to reserve your spot! There are three easy ways to register:
Call MAFP Headquarters at 517.347.0098 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Once you are registered, MAFP staff will schedule your legislative meetings; therefore, please be sure to indicate your home address on your registration so we can work to ensure that you are meeting with your own Senator and/or Representatives.
Prior to Advocacy Day, briefing materials and instructions will be made available to help you prepare for your legislative meetings.

Consider Donating to the Family Medicine Political Action Committee
