Webinar: Social Determinants of Health and ICD Coding
In 2015, the implementation of ICD10 CM introduced family physicians to the volume of factors influencing our health status as detailed in Chapter 21. One section of this chapter, labeled as miscellaneous Z codes, is where the Social Determinates of Health (SDOH) codes are located. These codes provide useful information on circumstances that may affect patients' treatment and overall health.
During this 90-minute webinar, participants will be educated on the new Evaluation and Management Guidelines, effective January 1, 2021, which recognize the SDOH as a factor in the risk for the patient's encounter and anticipated outcomes. Participants will also learn how to document within their patients' medical records to support their level of risk.
