Member to Member Webinar: Credentialing for Procedures Post-residency
Credentialing is a process that consists of two parts: credentialing and privileging. Credentialing is the verification of competency, as demonstrated by education, training, licensing, and work experience. Privileging is the grant of approval for a healthcare professional to perform certain procedures based on the demonstration of competency. Medical residents and fellows do not require credentialing as long as their work stays within the scope of their training program, and they are under the guidance and vigilance of credentialed professionals. However, practicing physicians must undergo credentialing as a new hire for their first job and at regular intervals thereafter. During this webinar, you will learn about how to earn your initial credentials and the process of credentialing that will be performed throughout your career to ensure you confirm to the standards of regulatory and accrediting organizations.
