2025 National Conference Student & Resident Delegates Announced

Each year, Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan appoints two residents and two students to represent Michigan Academy of Family Physicians at AAFP’s FUTURE Conference in Kansas City, MO. Delegate roles include writing, introducing, discussing, and voting on resolutions (proposals for change) and electing national resident and student leaders.

Representing MAFP at the 2025 FUTURE Conference of Family Medicine Residents & Medical Students, July 31-Aug. 2, will be:

Dr Saleh

Resident Delegate: Ahmed Saleh, MD

McLaren Health Care/Flint/MSU Program

"As a senior family medicine resident, I understand the challenges of healthcare costs, Medicare payment cuts, and limited patient access to care. I am committed to representing diverse perspectives and advancing inclusive policies that protect the rights of Michigan's physicians and patients."

 Julie Ngo

Resident Alternate Delegate: Julie Ngo, MD

Henry Ford Health/Henry Ford Hospital Program

"Serving as Michigan delegate, I will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of family medicine in the United States, as well as representing the state that I call home. I plan to practice in Michigan and would like to ensure that this state continues to be a place that people from all over the country can appreciate and learn from our professional community."

 Natalie Delemeester

Student Delegate: Natalie Delemeester

Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

"Family medicine and advocacy are intrinsically linked, and as a delegate I would be able to engage with how the national academy functions to reflect the needs and perspectives of its constituents. As a queer woman from a rural community, I also want to diversify the perspectives being brought to the conference."

Ryan Flaherty

Student Alternate Delegate: Ryan Flaherty

Central Michigan University College of Medicine

"I have decided that I will be pursuing family medicine as a career due to the longitudinal and personalized care offered. I am seeking to become more involved at a local, state, and national level in family medicine organizations. Serving as a delegate seems to be a fantastic opportunity to become involved, as well as meeting fantastic role models at the FUTURE conference to model my career and organizational involvement after."

Resident and student members of MAFP who have issues of concern or ideas for change are encouraged to email them to [email protected], so they can be shared with MAFP’s delegation as they prepare for resolution writing at the conference.
