MAFP Members Deepen Expertise in Death Certificates

During the Dec. 3 program Death Certificates: What Family Physicians Need to Know, MAFP members heard an in-depth review of statutory requirements, common pitfalls, and best practices for certifying cause of death from Patrick Hansma, DO. The program took place at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and was offered free to MAFP members, with participants able to join either in person or virtually. In-person attendees also participated in a guided tour of the morgue.
