Value-based care is reshaping how health care is delivered and reimbursed, and family physicians are central to that transition. MAFP invites members to watch a brief introduction to value-based care presented by Practice Management Committee Chair Charan Cheema, DO.

Resources for Residency Programs
Residency program directors and faculty can also take advantage of the AAFP’s value-based care residency curriculum, a video-based educational package developed with residency program directors to help programs:

  • Build residents’ essential practice management skills
  • Address ACGME requirements, including population health
  • Strengthen care delivery within the residency program

The curriculum includes 12 on-demand activities, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes, that provide a foundation in what value-based care is, why it matters and how it works. Additional resources include deeper-dive videos, downloadable tools and handouts, and sample block and longitudinal teaching schedules.

The residency curriculum is part of the AAFP’s broader collection of value-based care CME, tools and resources designed to help family physicians achieve their care delivery and payment goals.
