AAFP Accepting Written Testimony on Proposed Resolutions

Jan. 7, 2022 - American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is accepting, through Jan. 14, members’ written testimony on resolutions (member login required) currently before Congress of Delegates. Michigan Academy of Family Physicians put forth three resolutions passed by the membership at the 2021 Annual Meeting.

Testimony is limited to no more than 250 words and should be directed to what is being asked in the resolutions’ resolved clauses. The written testimony will be collated for each resolution and shared virtually with the respective Congress of Delegates reference committee. Virtual reference committee hearings will be held Jan 22-23, with reference committee reports available on Jan. 25.

In-person meetings of the 2021 Congress of Delegates Regular Session, scheduled for Feb. 5-6 in Kansas City, Missouri, have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Instead, consent calendars will be ruled by the Speaker as approved by unanimous consent, minus items requested by delegates to be extracted. Congress of Delegates will decide on extracted issues at is next in-person meeting. Should any time sensitive situations arise prior to the next in-person meeting, the AAFP Board of Directors will guide the reference committees’ decisions of how to proceed.
