From among the applicants who expressed interest in representing the Michigan Chapter at the 2017 National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL), the MAFP Board of Directors appointed Tina Tanner, MD (Montague) - Woman Physician Delegate; Srikar Reddy, MD (Brighton) - IMG Physician Delegate; Bashar Yalldo, MD (Royal Oak) - New Physician Delegate; Preston Thomas, MD (Farmington Hills) - Minority Physician Delegate; and Kristi VanDerKolk (Kalamazoo) - GLBT Physician Delegate.
"These physicians bring diversity in practice settings, location, and longevity, and several are attending NCCL for the first time. The MAFP Board of Directors is appreciative that these five Michigan Family Physicians are eager to share their perspectives at the AAFP's premier leadership and policy development event for underrepresented constituencies, and continue to develop their leadership skills to help guide us into the future," said MAFP President Robert Jackson, MD, MMM.
The five Michigan delegates will convene with other Chapters' delegates at the 2017 NCCL, April 27-29 in Kansas City, Missouri, where they will develop skills to advocate for issues relevant to their respective constituencies, as well as their practice, patients, and specialty
