Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan Elects New Officers and Trustees

The Board of Trustees of the Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan—the philanthropic arm of Michigan Academy of Family Physicians—held its Annual Meeting on May 10, during which new officers and trustees were elected for 2017-2018.

As a charitable public foundation, Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan invests in the programs and activities of Michigan Academy of Family Physicians—the state’s largest specialty physician association—that help train Family Physicians, Family Medicine residents and medical students in our state.

"We greatly appreciate the dedication of these Family Physicians who are volunteering their time and expertise to lead the Foundation in the years ahead in advancing Family Medicine in Michigan,” said the Foundation’s Executive Vice President Debra McGuire, MBA, IOM, CAE. “Research shows that adults and children with a Family Physician as their regular source of care have lower annual costs of care, visit the doctor less, are prescribed fewer medications and report less difficulty accessing care. That is why it is so critical that we invest today in the Family Physicians of tomorrow.”
