"I am honored to be appointed to this commission and very excited to join family physicians and chapter staff from across the country in helping to shape the Academy's membership initiatives. With more than 134,600 members spanning 50 states and territories, it is exciting to have a hand in expanding the Academy's membership to more family physicians, family medicine residents, and students and enhancing the value of membership," said Ms. Lawrence.
Founded in 1947, the American Academy of Family Physicians represents 134,600 physicians and medical students nationwide, and it is the only medical society devoted solely to primary care.
