Kristin Renwick, MD of Southfield, Michigan, was recognized with the 2018 Michigan Family Medicine Resident of the Year Award on July 14 during the Michigan Family Medicine Conference & Expo at Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo.

Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP)—the largest medical specialty organization in the state—presents this distinguished award each year to a Family Medicine resident in recognition of exemplary patient care, leadership, commitment to the community, contributions to scholarly activity, and dedication to the specialty of Family Medicine.

Dr. Renwick is in her third year of residency at Providence Family Medicine Residency, where she was chosen by her peers and faculty as the 2018-2019 chief resident. She also serves on several committees at Providence Hospital, including the Resident-Physician Excellence Committee, a system-wide quality improvement initiative. She is dedicated to community service and helping those in need, and is an enthusiastic teacher of medical students and junior residents.

“Dr. Renwick is a rare individual who possesses a combination of exemplary clinical skills, service toward others, leadership, and compassion,” said Karen Mitchell, MD, FAAFP, Providence Family Medicine Residency program director.
