News & Announcements
Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan hosted its ninth annual Michigan Future of Family Medicine Conference & Residency Connection on Sept. 17—one month earlier than in the past. Feedback from students, especially fourth-year students, and residency programs was that this date was ideal, providing timely networking for 2023 applicants and programs.
The 2022 AAFP Congress of Delegates met in person Sept. 18-21, after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. MAFP sent a full delegation and submitted two resolutions for consideration. Other highlights of the meeting was the installment of AAFP's 75th President and elections of the President-elect and other Board leaders.
When AAFP’s 2022 Congress of Delegates convenes in Washington, DC, Sept. 19-21, in attendance will be MAFP’s four delegates: Drs. Loretta Leja, Tina Tanner, Mary Marshall, and Mark Hamed. They will testify and vote in support of or opposition to resolutions put forth by state chapters, including one submitted by MAFP.
When the SEMAFP Board met for its quarterly meeting in July, officers were elected and discussions took place/decisions were made regarding, among other things, the 2022 Patsalis Vanguard Award applications and upcoming member events, incuding the all-member and family event coming up on Sept. 17, at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Bell Isle. Registration is due by Sept. 2.
