Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) is the state’s largest specialty physician association. With more than 4,200 members, MAFP is dedicated to assisting family physicians and their practices as they work to ensure high-quality, cost-effective healthcare for patients of all ages.
News & Announcements
MAFP invites active members who identify with one or more special consitutency (women, new physician, international medical graduate, minority physician, LGBTQ physician/physician ally) to apply as a delegate representing Michigan at AAFP's 2022 National Conference of Constitutency Leaders, Apr. 28-30, in Kansas City, MO. Earn CME credits and get reimbursed for registration and travel-related expenses.
MAFP recognizes 10 physicians who have achieved the 50-year milestone of Academy membership. Each of these long-time members joined the Academy in 1971 and are now life members. Eligibility for life membership entails holding active membership for a minimum of 25 years, holding 5 years of continuous membership immediately prior to election as a life member, and being 70 or older or totally retired.
Michigan Academy of Family Physicians supports Telehealth Awareness Week, presented by the American Telemedicine Association, Sept. 19-25. Following the unprecedented use of virtual care services in response to COVID-19, telehealth now represents 15-20% of care delivery, confirming the need to create a two-channel healthcare system that balances in-person and virtual care.
