Seeking Members for Family Medicine Speakers Bureau

Do you provide gender affirming care, practice sports medicine, deliver babies, or practice another subspecialty within family medicine? If so, you could be an important resource for residency programs, Family Medicine Interest Groups at medical schools, or journalists. MAFP invites members to identify their special areas of expertise for inclusion in its speakers bureau—our new initiative for building community and connections.

Serving as a resource through the MAFP Speakers Bureau provides an opportunity to educate others about your area of interest and increase awareness of the many different career options open to family physicians. Teaching learners during a residency program didactic session or Family Medicine Interest Group event may earn continuing medical education credits and, if you are faculty at a residency program, qualify as scholarly activity required by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.

To identify your area(s) of interest/subspecialty for inclusion in the MAFP Speakers Bureau, follow these steps:

  1. Go to MAFP’s website at mafp.com and login with your MAFP username (email address) and password (if you don’t know your password, you may select to reset it).

  2. On the Welcome webpage, click My MAFP Profile.

  3. Within your profile, click the blue Edit Profile button.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you will find the field titled Speakers Bureau—key in your area(s) of interest/subspecialty.

MAFP will then know who to contact when staff receives requests for experts regarding specific topics.
