2023-2024 MAFP Board of Directors Installed for Service

On Aug. 14, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians membership elected officers, directors/members-at-large, a resident and a student, and delegates to serve on its Board of Directors. These new board members were installed by AAFP President Tochi Iroku-Malize, MD, MBA, MPH, during MAFP’s 2023 Annual Membership Meeting, held at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI.

President-elect: Rachel Klamo, DO, FAAFP (Oxford)

Vice President: Bashar Yalldo, MD (Howell)

Speaker: Brandon Karmo, DO, FAAFP (Farmington Hills)

Treasurer: Kristi VanDerKolk, MD, FAAFP (Kalamazoo)

Member-at-Large: Vince Winkler-Prins, MD, FAAFP (Petoskey)

Resident Member: Mohammed Aamir Saiyed, MD (Central Michigan University Family Medicine Residency, Saginaw)

Student Member: Sarah Toates (Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Rochester)

AAFP Delegates: Tina Tanner, MD, FAAFP (Muskegon) and Mary Marshall, MD, RN, FAAFP (Grand Blanc)

AAFP Alternate Delegates: Mustafa “Mark” Hamed, MD, MBA, MPH, FAEMS, FAAFP (Sandusky, Detroit) and Srikar Reddy, MD, FAAFP (Eastpointe)

The 2023-2024 MAFP Board of Directors is led by President Beena Nagappala, MD, MPH and Chair Glenn Dregansky, DO, FAAFP. Also serving on the Board are Madeleine McMall, DO; Christopher Milback, MD, MBA, FAAFP; Holli Neiman-Hart, MD, FAAFP; Delicia Pruitt, MD, MPH, FAAFP; Susan Stevens, DO, FAAFP; Teniesha Wright-Jones, DO, FACOFP; and Chief Executive Officer Karlene Ketola, MSA, CAE.

“With sincere appreciation, I thank our Academy board members and Foundation trustees for their steadfast leadership in governance, policy, and finances, especially during this new world shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with our Advocacy, Member Engagement, Practice Management, Professional Development, and Student and Resident Education committees, more than 100 volunteer leaders are advancing the priorities of Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and Family Medicine Foundation of Michigan. Our sights are focused on the year ahead and the robust agenda before us,” said Ms. Ketola.
