Two-year Strategic Plan and New Mission, Vision Guiding MAFP's Work

This year, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors has worked to create a new strategic plan. The 2023-2025 Strategic Plan presents the goals and aspirations that will guide the association’s work. Through the strategic planning process, the MAFP Board of Directors approved a revised mission and vision statement to serve as the plan’s foundation.

MAFP Mission:
Michigan Academy of Family Physicians serves Michigan’s family medicine physicians, residents, and students through advocacy, practice support, and creating community and connections for all members.

MAFP Vision:
A thriving community of Michigan family physicians serving as trusted advocates for health and the profession.

The plan commits MAFP to three strategic objectives to guide its work over the next two years:

• Advocacy: Advocate for legislative and regulatory policies that support Michigan’s family physicians and protect the practice of family medicine in the state.
• Community & Connections: Cultivate and grow a vibrant and diverse community of members.
• Practice Support: Enhance and support members’ abilities to fulfill practice and career goals through education, information sharing, and practice management skills.

There is much more to come as MAFP's goals will move to committees to begin their work.
