Thank You for Completing AAFP’s Career Benchmark Dashboard Survey

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) released a Career Benchmark Dashboard survey in late August to build a valuable new member resource.

Member response to the survey exceeded expectations, with a rate of over 10% of active members participating!

The data gathered through the survey will be used to create the first-ever family medicine Career Benchmark Dashboard launching Friday, December 15.  Members will be able to filter the Dashboard by state, gender, practice setting, and other factors to gauge how their compensation and work environment measure up. The transparency this tool offers will support members in comparing career options, drive success in salary and contract negotiations, and uncover bias and discrimination in compensation.

Family physicians’ full worth should be recognized and rewarded. Whether in active practice, administration, academia, or elsewhere, family physicians’ compensation and working conditions must accurately reflect their expertise and the value they bring to their patients and communities. This tool can augment the progress already made to advance family medicine.

The Ohio Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) challenged the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) to see which chapter could get the most members to complete the career benchmark dashboard survey. With 10.30% of its active membership completing the survey, MAFP inched out a win over the OAFP’s 10.21% active membership completion rate.
