Michigan Family Medicine Research Day Abstracts Due March 11

The planning committee for the Michigan Family Medicine Research Day invites submission of abstracts of original research pertinent to family medicine and primary care for its annual Conference Day, scheduled for May 23.

The conference, which will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude with a 3:30 p.m. awards ceremony, will take place at Wayne State University’s McGregor Memorial Conference Center.

The event is designed for researchers, practitioners and trainees in Family Medicine, allied health professions and the behavioral sciences to come together to exchange ideas that may improve patterns of practice and patient health.

Research abstracts for both oral and poster presentations should focus on the collection, analysis and presentation of data, either quantitative or qualitative. Scholarly categories include case reports and curriculum development projects. Quality improvement projects, particularly those reporting measurable patient outcomes, are welcomed.

Topics include health disparities/health equity, behavioral health, clinical care, community-engaged research, curriculum/program development, practice facilitation/quality improvement, chronic care management and systems-based practice.

Presenter categories include student or trainee, resident physician, community practitioner and faculty.

Abstracts must be 300 to 400 words, no more than 2,750 characters, and should include background, methods, results and conclusions. List all authors' names and degrees, and mentor names. Presenters must register and pay the conference registration fee. Payment is not required at the time of abstract submission but is required before the registration deadline.

The deadline to submit abstracts is March 11.
