MAFP Announces 2024 NCCL Delegates

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) fosters positive change in family medicine through its National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL). The conference is an opportunity for members of underrepresented constituencies to voice their individual and group perspectives. Scheduled on April 18-20, NCCL brings together Active members serving as constituency delegates. Our 2024 Delegates include:

  • Victoria Dooley, MD, FAAFP — Women Physician Delegate
  • Frank Animikwam, MD — Minority Physician Delegate
  • Aisha Harris, MD — New Physician Delegate
  • Tahera Azharuddin, MD, FAAFP — IMG Delegate
  • Kari Beth Watts, DO — LGBTQ+ Physician/Physician Ally Delegate

Scheduled for April 18-20, NCCL brings together Active members serving as constituency delegates. These delegates will write, introduce, discuss and vote on resolutions representing:

  • Women
  • Minorities
  • New physicians (in the first seven years of practice following residency)
  • International medical graduates (IMG) from schools outside the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • LGBTQ+ physicians or physician allies
A resolution can begin as an idea and then be developed into a formal proposal or recommendation. The purpose of a resolution introduced at NCCL may be to establish AAFP policy, request investigation or implementation of an AAFP program, address issues of concern, or request the elimination of nonessential AAFP activities.
