Family Medicine Leadership and Development Program

Michigan Academy of Family Physicians is excited to offer its members the Family Medicine Leadership and Development Program. Designed to build personal leadership skills through immersion experiences within family medicine, this program is an investment in yourself, impacting your future and your specialty. There is no tuition fee, but program scholars are required to pay their travel expenses. Meals, program materials, and CMEs will be provided.

AAFP Prescribed Credits:
The AAFP has reviewed Family Medicine Leadership and Development Program and deemed it acceptable for up to 4.50 Live AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 12/05/2025 to 12/05/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM / AOA 1A Credits:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and MAFP. ACOFP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

ACOFP designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ACOFP is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. ACOFP designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.5 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report continuing medical education (CME) credits commensurate with the physician’s participation in this program. 

This program qualifies for AOA Category 1-A credit under an exemption approved by the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the American Osteopathic Association.

Program Application:

Applicants will complete the online application below and be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Must be an MAFP member in good standing. Only Active members and Resident members are eligible. 
  • Members who completed this program previously are not eligible to participate again.
  • A written paragraph explaining why you are interested in participating in the MAFP Family Medicine Leadership and Development Program.
  • A complete and current resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
  • A current headshot.
