2015 AAFP Congress Debates Issues at the Forefront of Family Medicine

This week, a delegation of MAFP members traveled to Denver, Colorado, to participate in the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Congress of Delegates—the policy-making body for the AAFP. The annual event spanning three days kicks off with a Town Hall meeting, and includes discussion on resolutions proposed by various states, as well as campaigns and elections of new AAFP officers and Board members and interactive discussions dedicated to uniting AAFP members and chapter staff.

MAFP Physician Joins Colleagues in Reminding Parents to Get Their Children Immunized

With fall upon us and kids preparing to head back to school, now is the perfect opportunity to remind parents of the importance of getting their children immunized. That was the focus of a press conference held on August 20, 2015, by the Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Michigan Academy of Family Physicians, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Pamela Rockwell of Ann Arbor represented the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians during the press conference.

Society Presidents Rewriting the Rules on Physician Leadership
